Sandworm's Architecture

Group Work
This project aims to discuss the potential for cooperation between sandworms and eels in the face of different crises, based on real biological properties and speculative thinking.
To solve the problem they are facing, the sand worms and the eels agree that the sand worm will build structures to help the eel get back to the deep sea, and in exchange, the eel will carry the larvae of the sandworms to suitable habitat in the sea.
We have created a fragmented narrative based on a diverse collection of physical media and projection mapping performances: we have assembled the legacy of the different stages of the story in the form of a vintage cabinet of curiosities, such as paintings, portraits, maps, specimens and architectural models, and through this indirect fragmentation of the narrative we hope to allow the audience to decode and deduce the history of the collaboration between two species as if they were archaeologists; at the same time we created an immersive storytelling experience through projection mapping on the sand box with abstract movements and graphics to show how eels lead sandworms back to the sea.
